His long jump of 23-9U for first place at a special stale qualifiers meet is the second best this year among schoolboy competitors in all classes, according to Texas rankings through April 13. Martin likewise was fifth in the 100 and sixth in the 220 at Fort Worth in preparation for this w eek's state meet in Austin where he’ll enter all three events while competing in Class A.
