He hasn’t pitched for a week.”Butler was late getting here because his wife became ill and he had to take her home to Detroit.“She’s much better now,” said Butler, “And she will join me here in Cedar Rapids shortly.”The six rookies in the starting lineup include: Don Decker, 2b; Lincoln Curtis, If; Mike Vandeven, rf; Jeff Helzel, lb; Don Sprusansky, ss; and catcher Bill Blasburg.The other limited service starter is centerfielder Dick Rowe who batted .174 at Tampa last season. Third baseman John Weghorn is the only veteran starter. He hit .215 at Williamsport inMIKE RYBAC.R. SkipperThe team was treated to abuffet dinner at the Chamber of Commerce Friday night at which each player was introduced and Ryba spoke of their prospects for the season.
