RIFLE AND GUN CLUB IS FORMEDHROUSING MEETING HELD AND MEMBERSHIP ROLL IS STARTED.The Centralin Kifle and Gun Club was formally organized Thursday evening, H. H. Robertson being elected president and Harry Cunningham secretary. Wonderful interest was displayed at the meeting and the orga izers believe they can safely count on or more members within the next few days.Preliminary matters were taken up at, the meeting and President Robertson appointed committees to look after the necessary work connected ith organization and report at another meeting to be field the fore part of next week. Two committees on ranges, one for a rifle range and one for a trap shooting range, were named. On the rifle committee is W. F. Seifert Harry Seymour and W. H. Erwin. On the trap-shooting committee is Lyman A. Haussler Harry Seymour and Claude Watson. A committee to draw up a constitution and bylaws was also named and is as follows: o. b. Kurth, Charles Hatfield, H. U. Mapes, Jes^e R. Pounds.lust as soon as the membership roll is completed the matter of securing rifles and ammunition from the government will be taken up. The local organization will be affiliated with the National Rifle Association and it is also planned to affiHate with the Illinois Association so that the members may enter meets and entertain state meets here.The government will furnish one rifle. such as is used by the National Guards, for every five members. Each member will receive an annual requisition lt;f 120 rounds cf ammunition and more as soon as progress is shown in target work. Individual rifles wi’l also be provided for high scores on the range, and rifles may be purchased by members for five dollars, less than the cost of manu-« facturing.A field captain will be chosen later on and a place decided upon to keep the rifles. When a squad of members goes out to shoot each man s held responsible for the rifle which he takes until it is returned. Practice shooting will be done at ranges varying from 100 to 800 yards.The membership fee in the club Is $1.50 and this in all probability will care for all expenses. The membership gives the members full privileges to the rifle club and also to the gun gun club, the latter being a trap-shooting feature which will hold shoots twice a month.Following are the members who have already signified their desire to euter the organization: Dr. T.
