State, getting all . its runs on homers by Bill Smodie. and Richard Chappell, beat North Carolina, 7-2, Saturday to gain a berth in the finals of the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament, while Clemson eliminated Wake Forest, 15-1. ;. . Clemson met North Carolina Saturday night for the other berth, in Sunday’s championship meeting.N. C.
