6-BURG RELAYSQUAD LOSESMAC TITLEThe Gettysburg College sprint medley relay team failed to successfully defend its title in the 71st annual Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania Saturday afternoon, but put up a game showing before going down to defeat at the hands of Norfolk State.Following Rick Gilbert’s 440 and Dale Boyds first 220. the Bullets were coasting along in fourth place. Sophomore Don Ardinger then took over and brought the large crowd to their feet with an astounding burst of speed. Ardinger was trailing by 20 yards when he took the baton. He quickley passed the three runners in front of him and gave anchor 880 man Jerry Staub a four-to six-yard lead. Staub held his margin until the home stretch when he gave way to the runners from Norfolk and William and Mary for a third place Gettysburg finish. The Bullets were clocked in 3:37.2 while Norfolk did a 3:33.2f
