Hardy Brands Montreal Report Just A RumorPORT ARTHUR, April 26.—Dr. \V. G. Hardy of Edmonton,, life member of the Canadian Amateur Hockey association, said here Sun-I day that a Montreal report that he was in line for the presidency of the National Hockey league was “just a rumor.”Dr. Hardy, a professor at the University of Alberta, said he had not been formally approached in any way by the National league.” Mervyn (Red) Dutton of Calgary, former manager of Brooklyn Americans in the N.H.L., has been acting president since the death of Frank Calder of Montreal lastwintqr.(The Montreal report said a rumor there was that Dr. Hardy would be named president of the N.H.L. at the annual meeting next month.)
