the Vikes had visions of his record of no dual defeats in three seasons going by the boards.Carroll was paced by Art Buck and Clayton who won two firsts each. Buck’s efforts were the highlights. He beat out three Lawrence runners in a great finish in the 440-yard run in 50.7 seconds. The race was run around a single turn. In the half mile he again staged a terrific drive in the last 50 yards to nose out Schubert. Lawrence. Carroll slammed in the pole vault while Lawrence slammed in the javelin. In the latter event all three Vikings tossed the spear farther than the old college record.Joe Graf, Lawrence’s ace sprinter, copped the 100 but was forced to take second in the 220 when he was nosed out in the final 50 feet. Frank Schubert took the mile in a great race, Bruce Stevens galloped over the lows for a first.
