Gila Vista runners win jPaced by Bryan Palmer’s three wins in Division A. Gila Vista Junior High rolled to a 1521/i-75,/2 victory in a dual track meet against Fourth Avenue.Palmer won the 75-yard dash in 11.7; the long jump with a distance of 15-9 and the high jump with a height of 5-2.Palmer also ran unattached in the 600-yard run and broke the school record with a time of 1:18.5. Frank Mesa of Gila Vista won the Division A shot put with a distance of 42-0.Gila Vista dominated Division s B and C. Jeff Bartlett won the 75-yard dash and teamed with Miguel Villarreal to win the Division B relay.Villarreal took the long jump in Division B and placed second in the dash behind Bartlett. In Division C, George Castrejon sped to victory in the 50-yard dash, and Alberto Urbieta won the shot put event at 32-3.Steve Kidd won both the long jump and high jump. Craig Hathaway won the 300-yard dash in the record time of 47.5, while Castrejon and Kidd teamed to win the relay.Jim Gilmore of Fourth Avenue won the 50-yard dash in Division D, and Jack Fritz of Fourth Avenue won the shot put.Craig Labistre of Gila Vista won both the long jump and high jump, and Labistre and Greg Streich won the Division D relay for Gila Vista._Jim Brennen had three victories for Fourth Avenue in Division E. Brennen won the 50-yard dash, the long jump and the high jump.
