Weir Girls Now 2-1After losing Iheir first game, 7-4 to Wheeling Park, the Weir High ''iris Softball Team romped over Bellaire and Buckeye North, 193 and •4-2, respectively.In the opener, 12 Rider girls were struck out by winning pitcher Valter, and only Elaine Jonczak managed to hit with two doubles, •xsing pitcher Sandy Bever struck out two Patriots, walked one and ave up three hits.In the win over Bellaire. freshman Rhonda Taflan walked two before ' andy Beyer relieved her in the fourth to strikeout one.Bever hit a home run, while Mary Fodor and freshman Jo Lym ' Irbowitz get triples and Sue Koval. Mary Dodor, Sharon Bailev and ’.ever all got doubles. Only one hit was given up in the game, 103 for Veir.The room over Buckeye North makes Weir's record 2-1. Rhonda ‘aflan was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts, one walk and fourits.Sue Koval had two doubles and a single fcr Weir, and Mary Fodor had ne of each. Angie Spencer and Debbi Marosi had two doubles apiece. Sharoi Bailey. Marcy Jonczak and Rhonda Taflan all had a double bile Elaine Jonczak. Judy Kowalik and Rhonda Robison each hit for a ngle.'Jhe Riders have 12 returning lettermen this year: Susan Koval, 'Jainc Jonczak. Judy Kowalik, Sharon Bailey.
