Weekly Newspapermen in Annual Convention at LondonHugh Templin, editor of The Fergus Xews-Record. was adjudged winner of the Pearce Memorial Trophy f^r the best weekly editorial page, at the banquet at the Hotel London in London, Ontario, Friday, April 16th, in connection with annual meeting of the Ontario and Quebec Division of the Canadian Weekly Newspapers Association. Pearce, of The Simcoe Reformer, who presented the trophy which is a memorial to his father, the late George Pearce; Hugh Templin, editor of The Fergus News-Record. winner of the trophy for tinsecond time in the last four years; and W. A. Fry, editor of The Dunnville Chronicle and president of the Amateur Athletic L'nion of Canada; lower picture, H. E. Rice, Editor of The Huntsville Forester, who was elected president for the coming year; Dr. \V. Sherwood Fox, president of the University of Western Ontario, who was special speaker at the banquet; and A. W. Wright, 82-year-old editor of The Mount Forest Confederate. Dr. Fox welcomed the suggestion made at the morning session that a short course be held at the London university for newspapermen where they might delve into leading issues, and stated: “We may be able to put certain facilities in vour wav.'’
