It it said that Joe accuses one who was supposed to be his bosom friend of double- ealing. The story was whispered aroundafter he fight among a certain fev people, but Choynski succeeded in having it suppressed, as he foresawthat a “holier” after defeat would not look well. The yarn gained publicity to day however, and it has caused a big commotion among'followers of the pugillstio game. Many critics at the ringside said Choynski was not himself. .. :■ .The story goes that Joe was drugged with chloral put in his whisky flask. It is said that this drug when used moderately is tot dangerous, but that |it has the effect of making th victim “dopey.” He is able to work mechanically, but his mental aprbilities are blunted.
