Injury Idles Dick StuartNew York (*) — Dick Stuart, the New York Mets first baseman, will be out of action for at least 10 days due to a torn rib muscle in his left side. Stuart will not be with the Mets when they leave Thursday night on a two-week road trip.Stuart was examined Wednesday by Dr. Peter La-Motte, the club physician, who reported the torn muscle and ordered the slumping slugger to do no running while the club was away.The injury occurred while Stuart was taking batting practice in a special workout Monday. He attempted to play Tuesday against St. Louis with his side taped, but had to leave the game in the first inning after he had gone to the plate and had a two-strike count against him.
