Anative of Enid, Okla., Haskins coached Texas-El Paso, then known as Texas Western, to the NCAA national championship in!The board passed a resolution recommending to the International Wrestling Federation that the AAU be recognized as the governing body for that sport in the U.S.The U.S. Wrestling Federation, an affilite of the NCAA, is also seeking this designation.Ten other personnel appointments were announced by the committee. ,Ernest Subert, Cedar Grove,; N.J.; Gerry Rimoldi, San Diego, Calif.; Karl Wettberg, Lansing,Mich.; and Theo Krow, Chicago,were assigned major coaching responsibilities to the U.S. cycling team and Alfred Toe-j field. Floral Park, NY.; was appointed team manager. jDr. Peter Buehning, Short Hills, N.J., was named manager and Ma j. Lawrence Montgomery, U.S. Army, Washington. D C., assistant manager of the handball team.Robert Helmick, Des Moines, Iowa, was appointed manager of the U.S. water polo team, and Herbert Mols, Buffalo, N. Y., assistant manager of the basketball team.
