Mr. Fullarton Is a St. Andrews man. twenty-six years old. He learned club making In St. Andrews. Unlike most professionals. h«learned to make golf clubs before be attempted to use them on a course.After working in the shop for four years Mr. Fullarton became Interested in thegame, and In four years more had developed into a very promising player. He decided to become a professional golfer and went to the Royal Wimbledon Club. In London. and took charge of the course. On leaving London last fall he came to thia country and during the winter made clubs for tho well-known firm of Cann Taylor. He was highly recommended to the Country Club and took charge of the clubs course on March L 'Fullarton plays In the true 8t. Andrewsstyle, with the sweeping swing and perfect approaches which are characteristic +t -A.St. Andrews golfers. He recently played the Country Club course over temporary- greens In 76. He is a thorough and painstaking teacher. He is also thoroughly famllUr with the proper care of a course. Under his direction a force of experienced meu hasbeen working the links into excellent condition. The entire course haa been twioe rolled and all the rough places hare disappeared. The few very bad place* have been filled In. Club members who have e» lt;rt the course in the last few days say thftt . never before has it been as go~d at this time of the year.CHANGES IN COURSE.Fullarton has made a few change* whichwill greatly benefit the course. The lengthof the second hole was changed from 596 to 300 yards and the third hole correspondingly lengthened, making It 420 yards. The old clay teeing grounds have been abandoned and grass tees substituted.The regular season at the Country Club will open on Decoration day with a handicap, 18 holes, medal play, for both men and■fcromen. On June 4. the spring championship for women, qualifying round. IS holes, medal play, will be the attraction. The same event for men will be held on June S.The first round of the championship formen and women. 18 holes, match play. Is scheduled for June 10 and the second r«*un lon June 13. The final round for women will be played on June 18. and the final round for men. at 36 holes, on June 30. Handicap against bogey, match play, men and worn- o. is scheduled for June 27. The big handicap for men and women. IS holes, medal play, and the driving and putting contest# wi'i be th«* attractions on July 4. The kickers’ handicap Is on the schedule for Aug. LThe next big event is scheduled for Laborday. Sept. 7—handicap for men and women,18 holes, selective score.The most Important event of the season— the Indians State Golf Association charo-lorshlp tournament—will be held on th»ountry Club course on Oct. L 2 and 3.
