C. Schovajsa of Sterling City, first; Judy Sneed of Winters, second; and Bruce Schovajsa, third, in grades 8 12. In grades 5 7 Gary Maricle of Sterling City placed first, Danny Mac Jordan ofpossession. Sterling City placed first in the six-man race with 24.1; Mason,second with 26.0; andBangs third with 26.5.Other races, winners, and times were:Ladies Six Man Race — Sterling City, 19.3; Bangs, 20.1; Sonora, 20.3.Three Man Race Rowena, 10.5; Sonora, 12.2; Santa Anna 12.3.Ladies 3 Man Race — Tie, Winters and Coleman, 11.6. In the runoff, Coleman placed first with 12.1; Winters, 12.3; Eden, 12.9.One Man Race: Santa12.3; Eden 12.9.Ladies Water Polo: Eden, first; Winters, second.Men’s Water Polo, Sterling City, first; Ozona, second.Bangs received the man miles traveled trophy. The terms of Roy Currie,Place 1; Joe King, Place 3; and R. M. Springer, Place 5 are expiring.All three have filed for reelection. The election will be held at the City Hall from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mrs. Blake Sparks will be election judge.The Council granted General Telephone Com pany of the Southwest a rate increase.
