(CP)—Hanson Dowell, 38, Middleton, N.S., for four years president of the Maritime Hockey associa-tion,1 and long-term member of the Canadian Amateur Hockey association, Monday was elected president of the CA.H.A, at the annual meeting here. He succeeds Frank Sargent of Part Arthur, president for the last three years.Other executive members elected are: A1 Pickard, Regina, first vice-president; Norman Dawe, Montreal, second vice-president; George Dudley, Midland, Ont., secretary; W. Halt of Fame Xt was decided that after deducting $30,000 from next years receipts to care for expenses, proceeds of the season will be divided between the C.A.H.A. clubs, anathe hockey hall of fame, to be established at Kingston, Ont. The clubs will divide 75 per cent*of the money, and the other 25 per cent will be presented to the hall of -fame ‘‘when the C.A.H.A. is satisfied plans are complete, and sufficient funds are available to proceed with the project.”George Dudley, secretary, said the hall of fame should receive between $4,000 and §5,000.Dr. W. G. Hardy of Edmonton, president- of the International Ice Hockey association, asked permission to organize a senior league next 'year, including teams from Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina and Moose Jaw:Must Be Good He said that the Alberta branch feels they will have to provide high-calibre senior hockey, comparable with that played by senior services ■ leagues, to draw attendance.“We feel there may be an effort to start a minor-professional league in the mid-west, and that a good senior league would be belter,’The meeting ruled that it was up to the Saskatchewan and Alberta branches t o settle thequestion.The association approved a motion permitting only junior branch winners of the Ottawa district, Mariiimes. Thunder Bay district and British Columbia branches to strengthen their teams for inter-provincial play-offs, with three players.Previously, all branches except Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba, could add three players to teams advancing into inter-provincialfinals. b .The association granted 3uni or clubs in Memorial cup play-offs the same travelling expenses as senior clubs receive for Allan cup playoffs—transportation for 15 players, and allowances of 390 daily, while travelling, and $120 daily, while in hotels. Junior clubs previously! received $80 travelling, and $100 in5 hotels.
