But Kody Smith struck out to end the game.“I was proud with how we played,” Union coach Gene DiGen-nard said; “We just came up a little short and we need to learn from it.”The Rams (3-1, 3-2) broke a 2-2 tie with four runs in the sixth. The Scotties made two errors on back-to-back sacrifice bunt attempts by Rochester.“We just had a mental lapse in the sixth inning,” DiGennaro said. “When teams are looking to give you an out, you have to get the outs; that led to four unearned runs.We just didn’t make the playsin the sixth.”Andre Jones (0-1) pitched 5-plusinnings for the Scotties in his first start of the season.
