Tempos make historyThree Winnipeg ringette teams brought home the hardware last night from national championships held during the weekend in Doilard Des Ormeaux, Que,Transcona Tempos Debs (18-and-over) were thechampions in their category defeating Ontario 3-2 in the final. The Tempos, whose only loss was to Nova Scotia in the round robin, made a spot in history when they were the first-ever recipients of the Governor General Madame Jeanne Sauve trophy for their achievement.Transcona’s Susan Johnson and Tracy Kasper were named to the national all-star team.Winning the championship in the Belie division (15-17) was the Manitoba squad represented by River East Falcons. The Falcons beat Ontario 4-2in the final for the championship.The junior Belle (13*14) representatives, Assin-iboin Park Fort Garry, finished third behind Ontario and Saskatchewan.
