Lakers Win At Net Lose To LeMoyne NineA heavy-hitting LeMoyne College nine 'pnilH fhp home ba'-e-ball opener for State University College at Oswego yesterday by taking an 8-3 victory at South Athletic Field with a five-run uprising in the eighth and ninth innings.The clubs had been tied 3-3 after each scored two runs in the fouith. Coach Dick Rockwells LeMoyne Dolphins made ! all its early scoring on the spectacular side, picking up its first three hits and runs on home runs in the third by Mike Montrny .and in the fourth by Mike Murphy and Andy Russo, who wafted wind-blown balls back-to-back after the first two batters in the inning grounded out.The Lakers scored one run in the second when Chuck Kozora was hit by righthanded side-armer Steve Stevens, moved around on Danny Dehm's double to center, and scored on Bob Brutch s two-hop hit to center. Oswego tied the score at 3 3 in the fourth on a walk, Brutch's second single, a fielder's choice and a triple by starter and loser Dave Neal.Neal tired and got into trouble in the sixth and seventh and again in the eighth, whe he gave up a Icadoff single to Don Guido, a long fly-ball played into a double for Murphy and a run-scoring single to Andy Russo.Tom Scoda came on in relief, struck out the first batter he faced, then served up a two-run homer to Joe Russo, who gave LeMoye its fouith homer of the game. Bill Bryant replaced Scoda in the ninth with two away and two mme runs came in on singles bv Mark Reinfierd, Frank Urtz, Murphy and Russo.Lanky Torn Russell, a lefty who bats right, picked up ihc win in relief for LeMoyne when he came on in the sixth when the Lakers threatened by putting two runners on with a walk and a single by Pete Sears. But Russell retired 10 of the next 11 batters and ruined the Laker homecoming.
