Westinghouse, Empire Teams Lease Field at * FairgroundsANNOUNCEMENT that the baseball teams of the Westinghouse Electrical and Empire Sheet and Tin Plate companies have leased the Richland county fairgrounds, which will be enclosed with a fence this year, for their games next summer was made by R. D. Hale, president of the fair hoard, today.W. H. Ziegler and H. H. Henry, representatives of the Westinghouse and Empire plants, respectively, took out a Joint lease on the field earlier this week, Hale said.Although the plans for the coming season are still indefinite, ---c Ziegler and Henry said todaythat It is their intention to stagegames at the field every Saturday, Sunday and holiday. Twilight games will also be played.Plan Twia-Rills.In addition to alternating theuse of the field. Is planned to feature the two teams in double-headers, each meeting a different foe.The Tmplrje plant will be represented by a strong colored club, Henry said. A11 of the outstanding local players will be on the club\ and several out-of-town stars will be brought here.According to Ziegler, the West-iHghouse team will again consist of many of the players who performed with the club last year. However, many new faces will he added.One of the new players to be added to the roster Is Frank Em-mer, former Cincinnati fnfielder. Emmer, who managed the House of David team last year, is now employed at the Westinghouse plant.
