D. shops, but who now conducts a saloon cm east Market street, is anxious to meet Con Riley, who makes Findlay his headquarters. Yates made his first appearance in the ring at Lima., when he met pan Bay-lift at Fuurot’s opera house, and although lie lost the decision he created it good impression and could get himself in line condition with proper training. Con Riley i3 an old and experienced ring general, and has been the otie to bring Biz Mackey to the front as a bantau weight. The only j objection there could ho to a match | with Riley at Findlay is the limit of j six rounds, and it is not likely. that either man's science or metal could be tested in that short time. Yates challenge was addressed to the Findlay Republican and.reads as follows: Lima, Ohio, April 10. 1901. Spurting Suitor Republican.Findlay, Ohio.Dear Sir:—I was in your city some time ago and was very well pleased with it. 1 would like to get a match with some one to lake place in your city with any man you know of in the state. Con Riley preferred. I will fight on any terms.
