Senators Here Wednesday And Thursday: Boast Strong Club, Next Wednesday afternoon when the Albany Senators take the field against the Tragerstown Braves at the Stadium in an exhibition game getting under way at 2:30 as dark fans will have an opportunity to see the class A Eastern League's best eenterfielder and the loops outstanding double play combina tion in action. Clark Henry, beginning his seven th season aa center fielder with Ajtminy, which had its training base at Brunswick, Ga, this year, was named oon the All-Star Eastern League team by the Western League Baseball Writers’ Associa tion, and Frankie Stancett, short stop, and Fred Lanifera, second baseman, have led the league in double plays for the last three years. Stancet is looked upon as one of the outstanding defensive short stops in minor league hall. He was drafted last December by Birming ham of the Southern Association, but refused to report to that club and the Senators acquired his con tract again for the draft price of $4,000. Lanifero is considered one of the best pivot men at second base in the Raine. He led all Class A second ‘basemen in twin killings last sea son. Barney At Third The Senators, one of the few out and out independently operated ‘clubs: an organized ball, finished fourth in their teague last year. They won the pennant two years ARN. The Albany club worked with Pittsburgh for 10 years, but the ‘agreement was cancelled at the ‘close of the 1950 season. Among former big league players now with Albany are Manager Merrill May, pitchers Hugh Mul cahy, Xavier Rescigno and Bill ‘Mminerich and third baseman Vic Barnhart.
