Outlaws stage comeback to win MAHA Int. D titleFOXWARREN- Martin Dupont and Carl Haney each scored twice to lead the St. Lazare Outlaws to a 7-3 win over the Fox warren Falcons in the fifth game of their best of five Manitoba Amateur Hockey Association Intermediate D championship.The game was played before 1,531 spectators at the Foxwarren Arena on Friday, April 5.The Outlaws took control of the game from the outset as they built up a 4-1 first period lead on Dupont’s two goals and singles by Dave Haney and Carl Lepine.Carl Haney’s pair of goals in the second period lifted the Outlaws into a6-2 lead as the period ended.Rene Lemoine wrapped things up in the third period after the Falcons had pulled to within three goals.Brad Bulbuck, Stan Furman and Kirk Lyttle replied for the Falcons, who were recently crowned North Central Hockey League champions.Referee Frank Taylor of Minnedosa had complete control of the hockey game, calling the Falcons on 7 of 13 minor penalties. The Outlaws received the lone major penalty.The Outlaws had evened the series before a near-capacity crowd at the Bir-tie Arena on Wednesday, April 3 by a 9-6 count.
