Then three hours later at MackenField Fewox spun a one-hitter as the Patriots edged NorthKansas City, 2-1.Bvrne went 4-for-5 and hadfour runs batted in, while Steve Green also went 4-for5 with adouble and two-run, first-inning homer to pace Truman’s 14-hit attack off four Park Hillhurlers. Green drove in threeruns.Chuck Burks and Lindsey Cobb had two singles and oneRBI each.Mike Hatfield, who came onin the fourth inning, picked up the victory. Joe Bnllin was theByrne’s homer gave Truman, now 2-1, an insurmountable 9-4lead.At Macken Field Trumanscored a run in the seventhinning for the decision. Fewoxwon his own game by opening the frame with a single, advancing to third on two errorsand scoring on a balk.It was Bryne’s booming triple that scored Green that led toTruman’s first run in the fourth.The Hornets tied the score inthe fifth.The talented Fewox struck out12 and walked five and the onlv*hit he allowed was a pop fly triple by Doug Lee in the sixth.
