Aaron Named Braves’ CaptainATLANTA (UPI) — Manager Luman Harris has named home run hitter Hank Aaron as team captain of the Atlanta Braves, the first time the Braves have acaptain since Eddie Mathewswas traded to the Houston Astros in December, 1906.Harris made the announcement of Aaron's selection as the Braves prepared to take on the San Francisco Giantsf in the opener for both teams Mondaynight in the AUanta Stadiura.
