Gosh, how my head hurts.'’The Babe did not leave the trahr'ln Washington. He stayed in his berth and talked to the International News Service representative through the curtains.“I’ve been in bed almost every minute since I got aboard,” he said, and I expect to stay there till we reach New York.”He said he had a good night and felt belter this morniug than he did last night, but several times | ho complained of his head hurtling and the burning sensation jn his eyes. Most of them wero inspired by rumors that the mighty slugger bad expired enroute. Gee, how my head hurts.”Before leaving the Union station here, Ruth telegraphed Mrs. Ruth In New York:“Meet me,” said h!a message. “The rumor lliat I am dead Is all a lie. Love.”Those accompanying the Babe on his noithward journey were at a loss to account for the rumors of his death, which had placed it at Lynchburg, Va.“I can’t account for tho reports”, said Krichell. “Babe was well enough last night and we tried a little pinochle. When we passed Lynchburg he was asleep.”
