WINS DEBUT. Nicole West, 7, participated in a karate tourney at Harding Junior High and came out a winner in her first taste of competition. She is shown with her father, Clarence West, who has a karate school at 206 S. Third St., Steubenville. Nicole took first place infighting. Her father was awarded the Most Competitive Trophy. An employee of Titanium Metals in Toronto, West is a black belt instructor. Other pupils of his faring well in the tourney were Don Seals, first place, brown belt; Roberta Seals, third place, kata; RobertMartin, third place white belt; Eric Marshall, second place, white belt, Alex Lyons Jr., third place, yellow belt; and Marvin Young, second place, brown belt.
