John Glenn Athletes AreOfloHonored At Sunday BanquetNEW CONCORD - Awards wore presented to members of the John Glenn High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, wrestling team, and cheerleaders at the annual Winter Sports Banquet Sunday evening at the high school.Gordon Litt, the team’s leading scorer and an All-Muskingum Valley League selection, was named the most valuable player on the boys’ varsity basketball team. Litt also received the best foul shooter award. Bob Camp was the leading rebounder and Doug Smith had the most assists.In girls’ varsity basketball, special awards went to Lita Van ( Reeth, best foul shooter and most assists; Beth Rupert, I leading rebounder; and Cathy Cunningham, best defensive 1 player1 Receiving top wrestling p awards were Ben Bradley, most s valuable wrestler; Tim Hayes,most take downs; and Doug McConaha, the Steve CalixteAward for determination, effort, and attitude.Other varsity basketball awards presented by Coaches Sanford Smith and Bob Carroll included:First-year letters — Greg Adams, Tim Callahan, Bob Camp, Matt Gerlach, Andy Geyer, Darwin Graham, Dave Hilles, Kevin McKinnon, and Doug Smith.Second-year letters — Litt and Dave Whitlow.Letter awards for girls’ varsity basketball were presented by Coach Rick Sherman to:First year — Jenny Geyer, Myrna Phelps and Joyce Prouty.Second year — Susie Cole, Robin Eidens, Susan Elliott, Susan Lighthizer and Beth Rupert.Third year — Cathy Cun-toVIslt;VLittle Muskies SweepNEW CONCORD - John Glenn’s Little Muskies captured a doubleheader sweep Saturday when they took 14-2 and 15-1 wins over the visiting Zane(5) and Carpenter.
