PLAYER OF THE YEARADAM HIGHBERGERBlairsvilleSophomore GuardWhen Adam Highberger broke his wrist late in the football season there was, of course, genuine concern for obcats' quarterback and how the injury would affect the team's postseason aspirations There was even more concern that Highberger might not heal m time for basketball sea son When the season tipped off, though, Highberger was in the lineup. While he guided an explosive offense on the foot ball field, Highberger proved to be even more dangerous on the basketball court Highberger is believed to be the first sophomore selectedas the All-Gazette player of theball player in the area this season.He averaged 22 7 points and 7.7 assists, buried 90 3-pomt field goals and shot 87 percent from the free throw line — all area highs as Blairsville's point guard He recorded career highs of 36 points and 14 assists on two occasions and eight steals on three occasions.
