And lat was fine with Redbirds oach Scott Harper.Cline hit a two-run home un to stake Alton to an arly lead. Then he pitched a scoreless inal inning as the Redbirds overwhelmed toxana 11-0 at Hopkins Field.The Redbirds improved to 3-3. TheALTON 11 ROXANA 0Shells are 4-3.“That home run and their four-run first inning took the winds out of our sails,” Roxana coach Mike Arbuthnot said “When you get down 4-0 against a good Class AA team like Alton, it takes awaythings you can do.”It also increased the Redbirds' opportunities.
