NASA balloonlands in IN.I).PIER HE, S.l) (AP) A 1 balloon launched Tuesday from Pierre to study cosmic rays landed shortly Ix’fore dawn today near Minot, N I) Officials of the National Scientific Balloon Facilitysaid it touched ground M miles east of that community.A spokesman for the group said it was kept aloft longer than planned because it had been drifting over Lake Sakakawea and no one wanted it to land in water The spokesman said arecovery crew was sent to thearea to see whether thescientific instruments carried during the flight survived intact. No word was available on the condition of the package.
