Gulf Oil officials confirmed Friday that a fire broke out in a fueling pump station late Thursday. No injuries were reported and company officials were still assessing the damage to the plant facility as of mid-day Friday. The fire broke out in a pump station while jet fuel was being loaded onto an awaiting tanker at 11:19 p.m., according to Barry Smyth, a spokes man for Gulf Oil’s regional office in Houston. The fire was brought under control at 12:26 a.m. by the company’s firefighters. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
