Duke Professor Gets FellowshipDURHAM (UPI) — A DukeUniversity biochemistry professor, Dr. Salih J. Wakil, was named winner of a John SimonGuggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship.The 40-year-old Wakil, a native of Karbella, Iraq, will use the grant for a year’s study of the biological function of membranes at the Pasteur Institutein Paris, France.Wakil became a United States’ citizen in 1964. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, in 1948, and earned his Ph. D. from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1952
