Evacuation of Crete Reaches 15000 British Troops
London reports that the main British and Imperial forces in Crete have been evacuated by sea under heavy aerial attack. About 15,000 men are said to have been withdrawn, with RAF and South African planes defending the flotilla and nine enemy dive bombers shot down. General Freyberg led the operation from the quay as ships moved in and out amid constant bombing.
