candidate, won a three-cornered light for a seat in the Manitoba legislature, in the Portage la Prairie constituency on Monday, when on a second count he secured a majority of 238 over E* A. Gilroy, Ind. H. A. Ireland, I.L.P. candidate, was third. The by-election was made necessary by the resignation of Mr. Justice F. G. Taylor from the legislature following his elevation to the bench.
