JAPAN WOMEN WAR ON BOOZESchools of Japan Circularized by Juvenile Temperance Band Creating Dry SentimentSho Ncmoto, Japan.The Juvenile Temperance Band, under the leadership of Miss Azuma Moriyaand her co-workers, is doing a wonderfulwork. The Band is distributing 25,000 packages of temperance posters, each package containing eight posters andleaflets. The posters show the Japanese laws prohibiting smoking and drinking bv minors.The method of distributing each package of posters is interesting. On each package is written the name and address of the person who gave the necessary 50 sen covering expense of preparing andmailing the package. The name and address of Mr. Shozo Aoki had to he written two thousand times as he has pledged 1,000 sen each year for the next ten years. Mr. Aoki is receiving many letters of thanks from the public schools.Through the distribution of these posters, teachers of 25,000 public schools will receive new light and l»e enabled to pass on temperance lessons to seven million school children throughout Japan.Miss Utako Hayashi, president of the Os^ka W. C. T. U., is also doing effective educational temperance work in the western part of the empire through the distribution of posters and leaflets.
