In 19-13 he represented the Twelfth District in the Senate where he was chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means. He is now serving his sixth term in the House where he is chairman of the Committee on Appropriations and a member of the Rules committee.During Mr Atherton's service inthe House, he has been chairman of the Banks committee, chairman of the Coordinating committee and chairman of Revision of Statutes committee,Mr Atherton attended Dartmouth College and was graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
