Janies Hill, Mississippi’s leading colored politician, bas started a weekly paper at Jackson, bearing the name of the ‘‘Mississippi State Register.” In bis salutory he gives advice that is good for white people as well as black people. It is in the Register’s province to be of much benefit to the eolored people of Mississippi, and The Herald, judging from the salutory predicts that it will be. Its editor advises against ncendiary utterances and asks that the olive branch of peace govern the two races. If the Register continues as it has started, the whites as well j as the blacks will welcome its publication.
