NEW HIGHWAY SIGNS — State HighwayCommissioner John C. Mackie displays the new Interstate Highway signs which will give relocated US-16 a new look this summer. Interstate route 96, 224 miles long, will erally follow existing US-16 from Grand Rapids, then to Holland and parallel Lake Michigan to a connection withInterstate route 94 (relocated US-12, theDetroit to Chicago expressway) near Benton Harbor. US-16 from Grand Rapids to Muskegon will be route 196. The red, white and blue signs will be placed as sections of the routes are completed to Interstate standards.
