Dr. and Mrs. Herman F. Swartz, who have been on a world tour since last August will sail from Cherbourg, France, on the George Washington, March 18, arriving In New York March 26, according to recent word received by friends, Drt Swartz is president of the Pacific Sdhool of Religion, and will be In. Berkeley for the com-hiencement festivities which will be held the week of May 8.Dr. and Mrs. Swartz will remain in the East for a short time and will then go to Chicago, where they will buy a new automobile and drive West leisurely.Dr. Swartz has spent his sabbatical leave visiting educational institutions the’ world over. Leaving here last summer Dr. and Mrs. Swartz went first to the Orient. They had an interesting trip through Japan, China, Mayala, Burma, India and Ceylon. They went through the Suez Canal on the Japanese liner Hakone Maru, and spent ten days in Palestine, where Dr. C. C. McCown, dean of the Pacific School of Religion, is on two years* leave taking the post of director of the American School of Archaeology at Jerusalem. From there Dr. and Mrs. Swartz went to Constantinople. and later through Europe.
