Ephram Breeding BRENTON — Ephram (Junior) Breeding, 73, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, in a Man hospital follow ing a sudden illness. On Nov. 9, 1924, at Gray Ba le, he was the son of the late phram and Goldin Deskins Breeding. Mr. Breeding was a retired min er with 20 years of service and a school bus driver. He was owner and operator of Breeding’s Service Station at Baileysville. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was of the Bap tist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet M. Lester Breeding in 1968; three sisters, Nina Lusk, Bessie Mabes and Katie Barnette; and a brother, Hammond Breed ing. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Sue Jackson of Pineville; a son, Robert Lee Breeding and his wife, Sue, of Baileysville; three sis ters, Rosalie Breeding of Welch, Josephine Workman of Bai leysville, and Opal Stewart of Crouch’s Farm; a brother, John Breeding of Johnson City, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Leisa Dawn Breeding and Robert David Breed ing of Baileysville; and a great granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Stone. McGown, 80, of Pax, died 5:05 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 27, 1998, in an Oak Hill medical cen ter following an extended illness. Born March 18, 1918, at Pax, she was the daughter of the late Henry Haley and Minnie Shepherd Haley Lucas. Mrs. McGown was a former restaurant ow h er, having last worked at her granddaugh ter’s (Vickie Kelly Toney) restaurant, Kel ly’s Korner in Oak Hill. She was a fabulous cook and seamstress, who never had idle time. Mrs. McGown was a member of the Baptist faith and a former member of the Suburban Home makers Club of Bradley. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Haley, who was killed during World War II in Ger many during the Battle of the Bulge. Survivors include two sons, Wilbur Lee (Jack) McGown and his wife, Maureen, of Mansfield, Mass., and H.
