Lasoch, a crowd that filled the Second Baptist church heard the evangelist, Rev G. C. Teague, D. D .of Granite Falls, bring a power ful sermon on the subject of “Con viction.” Using for his text John 1628-10 the evangelist showed how man wittin his own power could not save himself. He explained that any man realizes that he is that he cannot be saved. He used an wn nrustration a man falling from a ship would make every effort to swim safety and would exhaust his own strench before he would ctv for help. Usine John 8:44 “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him” he explained how any the Holy Spirit aad the power to convict a man and that this is she initiaated to salvation. After showing the lost man under present condemnation of God as stated in John 3:18 “He that believeth in him is not con demned: but he that believeth not jis condemned already” the evance list then stated that salvation was all of grace by faith In Christ as stated in Ephesians 2:8 and that the only work that man can do to inherit eternal life is that spoken of by Christ in John 6:29 “This is the work of God, that we believe on him whom he hath sent.” Last night the (lit Alpha club ‘sane the two) beautiful numbers.
