JAMES S. PRICE.James Spencer Price, age 48, prominent farmer residing five miles and one-half southwest of Kirklin, passed away at his home Saturday morning at 8 o’clock following an illness of three weeks from a complication of diseases.His passing came as a complete surprise to his friends as few of them realized that their friend had been in a precarious condition. He was suddenly stricken Friday while working on a silo and from that time the decline was rapid.The funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 o’clock from the Scotland church, Rev. Johnson of Darlington officiating. Interment was in the Oak Hill cemetery.James Spencer Price was the son of William and Martha Price and was born in this county August 23. 1872. In January, 1894, he was united in marriage to Ida Burris.The mother and widow survive together with the following children: lea Wiley, of Elizaville; Zula, Cleo, John, Irene, Hazel, Catherine and Bert. John Price of Sugar Creek township is a brother. jThe deceased was a member of the Pickard lodge of Red Men and was one of the most prominent farmers of this community.
