Sept. 30.—The county authorities in Mississippi have been kept quite busy with murder cases during the past ten days, and severalatrocious crimes are reported 111 the country press from interior counties which escaped chronicle in the press dispatches.James Burns shot and killed a fel-low-laborer on the Pearl and Leaf Itivers railroad, near Williamsburg, firing six shots into his bodv and afterward making his escape. Word has just been received of his capture at Gulfport.In Lee county near viuntown a ne-gruss named Bryson was killed bv her former husband who made au attack upon the woman's newlv adopted lover and wound up by killing the woman. He claims, however, that Pink I)owd. the lover, iired the fatal shot.At Wallace’s store, in Tate county. Grant Rice was shot and killed Saturday afternoon by Larkin Johnson. The latter claims that the killing was in self-defence, and that Rice was drawing his pistol when he drew his own weapon and fired.
