La Fiesta Theater Restaurant celebrates its 10th anniversary with one of Hollywood's beautiful blondes, Mamie Van Doren, as its attraction starting Thurs day night. Glamorous Mamie, star of dozens of Hollywood films, has been likened by critics from coast to coast to the late Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield. Mamie brings her glamour-filled song and dance re vue to La Fiesta for an 11-night engagement. Dean Barlow, Hollywood song and dance man, will be fea tured in her act which showcases her talent as a singer-dancer. She has many lavish costumes in her revue which is designed as a “fun show” in Mamie’s own words. Mamie arrives at El Paso International Airport at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to start a two-day rehearsal schedule with La Fiesta’s show orchestra under the direction of Angel Ramos. THIS IS MAMIE’S first appearance at La Fiesta. She is the first of a lineup of name stars booked by the club as anniversary attractions. She will be fol lowed by Tito and Lilia Guizar, the Four Aces, Earl Grant and TV's Roger Smith in future weeks. Mamie, divorced from Band Leader Ray Anthony, has most recently been linked romantically with base ball star Bo Belinsky. Her night club act, which she broke in earlier this year in Las Vegas, is designed to prove that Mamie is more than just a pretty face but has talent as well as a singer and dancer. She will present two shows nightly at 8:30 and 10:45 p.m. El Paso time with an added 1 a.m. show on Saturday only.
