WAITSBURG — Several fami lies changed residences over this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Wal ter White have purchased Mrs. Harvey Estes’ home on West 4th and moved out of their trail er. Mrs. Estes and children have moved into the Harlan Hulce home. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Estes of Mose Lake have been helping her move. The Hules are staying with her parents until their home on Preston Ave. is finished with the renovation. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Baker and children have moved into the former Howard Davis home on Preston Ave. Mr. and Mrs. How ard Davis purchased a new trailer and have moved into it on Main St. The past Matrons of Eastern Star met Monday at the home of Mrs. Joe Abbey with Mrs. Robert Danforth assistant host ess. Plans were discussed for the 75th anniversary of the Eastern Star to be observed Nov. 16. PEO members had a coffee hour for Mrs. Carl Dilts at the home of Mrs. Miles Brunton Thursday morning, with Mrs. Kenneth Bicklehaupt and Mrs. Kenneth Zugar as co-hostesses, and the president, Mrs. Vaughn Hubbard, serving. Several couples had a no-host dinner party for them at the Elks Club Friday. Dilts recently retired as editor and publisher of the Waitsburg Times. They have purchased a home at Scottsdale, Ariz., and plan to spend the winter there. Mrs. Otto Nelson entered a Walla Walla hospital for sur gery Monday. Mr. and Mrs. John Appleton visited friends and relatives in Seattle last weekend and took John F. Appleton, his father, home after his visit. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hofer are the parents of a girl born Fri day. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Hofer of Prescott and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kerchof of Dayton. Attending the WSU-Wyoming game Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Mikkelsen, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Broom, Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Hofer, Glen Hofer and son, Gary. Vicki Gohlman, as co-annual editor, and Karen Peters and Judy Hall journalism students attended an Eastern Oregon Press Conference in Pendleton Saturday, accompanied by their advisor, Mrs. Ron Jackson. The Odako Club had its first fall meeting at the home of Mrs. Richard Roberts with Mrs. Carl Nordheim ,co-hostess. Mrs. Gladys Eslick of Dayton showed slides on Tahiti and Fiji.
