Thornton Plays OnAF Team In JapanDan Thornton, graduate of Wilson White school for Negroes in Rosebud, and star fullback on the Wilson White Lions team, is playing on the Taehikawa Air Force Base Marauders' football team in Japan.A clipping was sent to The Rosebud News that stated that Thornton was picked as the star performer in an interservice between Taehikawa and AtsugiNaval Base.He scored once on a 68-yard punt return, and again on a 25-yard play througn the line.Rosebud area fans will remember Thornton by his totaling of over 200 yards in a single game for the Wilson White Lions in 1958.
