Daughters, Irene and husband Carl of Port Colborne, Ontario, Lucille and husband Michel Querel of Winnipeg, Si-monne and husband Denis Hayward of Calgary, Alta, and sons, Lucien and wife Shirley of St. Catherines, Ont., Armand and wife Jean of Red Lake Road, Ont. and Raymond and wife Louise of Chatham, Ont. Also mourning her passing are her 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister Cora Harrison; her daughter-in-law Mildred (Roger) and numerous nieces and nephews.Eugenie was born in St. Boniface on July 3, 1905. She spent her earlier years in Woodridge, Man., where she met and married Henri. They remained in Woodridge, raising their seven children until 1955 when they moved to St. Boniface. Eugenie was a wonderful mother and grandmother whose first thoughts were always of her husband and her kids, be they 7 or 70 years old. She was a generous person with a wonderful sense of humor, whose heart and door were always open to family, friends and relatives. There are many who can attest to Mere-Mere’s culinary expertise, creating wonderful meals for her family and friends from the simplest of ingredients or her artistic flair and ability in creating clothing, toys, etc. from odds and ends of materials.At the time of her passing, Eugenie was a resident of Rivereast Personal Care Home. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff for the care and patience given their mother during her stay.Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street, St. Boniface at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30. Interment to follow at Woodridge Cemetery.Flowers are graciously declined. If you so desire, you may contribute to the Alzheimer’s Society of Winnipeg or the charity of your choice.
