Told Who Killed Old Man Phillips.A representative of the Greensboro News Asheville bureau has received information, which if true, may cause still another reprieve by Governor Craig in the cases of Merrit Miller and Hardy Wiggins, the Q.raham county murderers now in death cells at the state's prison at Raleigh, awaiting execution October 27. They point to the note which Ed. Williams sent to the condemned men on the night before they were to be executed, in which he stated that “it is too late now for me to do anything,” as evidence that Williams does know something which might be of help to the men under death sentence. Rev. Mr. Dilts. the Raleigh pastor who has helped Miller and Wiggins, is here in the west having arrrived the first of the week and it is thought that he will investigate the reports from Andrews before be returns to Ashe Vile. Rev. Mr. Dilts has devoted much time to the condemned men and believes their statements that they are innocent of the death of old man Phillips.
