Barrett— Mrs. Barrett and Son Heid Oskaloosa, fn, Sept. 27.—Grant Brown, upon the finding of the coron er's jury, who was held to answer for the murder of Charles M Barrett, “who was shot down in cold blood on the night of Sept. 19, is in jail here. Mrs. Barrett and her son Sammy are held in connection with the commis sion of the crime but were released from custody on bonds of $2,000 each Governor Proclaims Official Election. Des Moines, Sept. 27.—Governor B. F. Carroll has made Public the of ficial election Proclamation for state Offices. It calls for the election of all the state officers, twenty-twosena tors, 108 representatives and all the district judges. The proclamation calls for a vote of the people of the State upon the question of calling a constitutional convention to revise and amend the constitution.
